iPad 2: The Apps!

The iPad 2 has arrived. The duel-core tablet has some very powerful specs geared to compete with the Motorola Xoom, but we’ve also learned a bit about the apps it will feature. Not much info is available, but what we do know is that the IOS 3.4-running iPad 2 will ship with new iTunes Home Sharing features, which will let users play content from desktop iTunes over Wi-FI.

Moving on to some new AirPlay features, App Store apps running on the iPad 2 will be able to share audio and video between each other. On this note, the tablet also comes with the FaceTime and Photo Boot apps. To top this off, Apple unveiled an iMovie video editing app for the ultra-thin device, as well as the Garage Band instrument learning app.

The above apps were the ones demonstrated in the official San Fran keynote, but there’s also another one confirmed to hit the iPad 2. NASA engineer Craig Hunter combined his knowledge of augmented-reality and the Photographic Camouflage concept created by MW Research and Development. into an app called CamoScience. MW Research confirmed earlier this month it will arrive to the iPad 2, though it’s unclear when.

“CamoScience will […] let users design Photographic Camouflage into a touch-screen grip for the iPad 2″
