Perhaps the new partnership between Quantum and NetApp can very well respond to this clamor.  Quantum, being a leader of the backup, recovery and archive market, now enables NetApp to resell Quantum’s StorNext. The fusion of StorNext software and NetApp disk-based products are lethal to opponents as the combination will provide simultaneous sharing, managing and on-demand distribution of media files capabilities.

Vice President and General Manager of the NAS Business Unit of NetApp Brendon Howe explains how the partnership supports the organization’s goal. “The combination of NetApp’s storage systems with Quantum’s StorNext software allows us to address the demanding storage challenges certain customers face with big-bandwidth applications such as streaming video,” Howe says. “As a leading performance software product for storage, StorNext is a great complementary fit for NetApp’s storage portfolio, and we’re excited about the new business opportunities this will bring to NetApp.”

The company also was named into the “Leaders Quadrant” by Gartner. It has established itself as one of the global leaders in pioneering storage and data management solutions that accelerate business breakthroughs and deliver outstanding cost efficiency.

NetApp scores another win with the Engenio acquisition, worth an estimated $480 million. Just when everybody thinks this purchase is not a good idea, seasoned analysts believe otherwise. NetApp is positioning Engenio as a rich media play, marking a $2 billion windfall for investors.
