Israeli IT automation platform startup Atera raises $25M

Israeli information technology automation platform startup Atera Networks Ltd. announced today it has raised $25 million in new funding led by K1 Investment Management to expand research and development, widen its geographic footprint and accelerate its market expansion efforts.

Founded in 2011, Atera offers an all-in-one platform that combines remote monitoring and management with help desk, reporting and operations management in a single intuitive system. The platform has a focus on enabling managed service providers and IT professionals to shift from “reactive task takers”  to proactive problem solvers.

The platform is designed to move beyond managing an office environment to companies that are responsible for managing hundreds of remote home-offices, each with its own technology. The company claims it’s uniquely positioned to support and sustain the global transformation to a “dispersed workforce.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed the paradigm of what was once considered nice in theory but not always good in practice: remote working. Atera is arguably a case of a company with a solution that is in the right place at the right time.

Atera’s design and automation features are claimed not only to save hours of time on traditionally manual tasks but to enable businesses to get up and running in minutes, versus hours of costly implementation and training. Its RMM platform offers professionals proactive, predictive insights that identify and remedy problems within an organization before they cause business stoppage by analyzing more than 40,000 data points per second.

“The global pandemic has fundamentally altered the way businesses operate and the department hit first, and hardest, was IT,” Gil Pekelman, Atera’s co-founder and chief executive officer, said in a statement. “Unfortunately, the legacy IT management solutions on the market are clunky, costly and unable to deliver the immediate business transformation our new reality demands from a remote workforce.”

Various startups and tech companies with a focus on remote working have thrived through the pandemic. One example is Zoom Video Communications Inc., which made its service the verb for videoconferencing in the same way that Google is a verb for searching the internet.
