LogDNA streamlines log management and analysis with customer-centric approach
COVIDd-19 brought several changes to the tech world, and a surge of data usage is one of the most dramatic examples of these changes, calling for competent log management and analysis platforms.
LogDNA Inc., built on Kubernetes and optimized for Kubernetes, is a centralized log management platform designed for a streamlined DevOps experience. The company recently buzzed the news circuit with the announcement of a new observability data streaming service.
“We’ve been focused on tamping down controls on the volume of log data coming in and making sure that they have a higher single and noise ratio,” said Peter Cho (pictured), vice president of product at LogDNA. “We’ve been honing in on how can we take those capabilities and form them in a pipeline — so log management DevOps focusing on log data but moving forward focusing on that flow of data.”
Cho spoke with Lisa Martin and David Nicholson, co-hosts of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, during the recent KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA event. They discussed LogDNA’s customer base, upcoming LogDNA features, adopting a customer-centric approach and more. (* Disclosure below.)
Putting the user first
LogDNA boasts a variety of users, boosted as a result of businesses accelerating their digital migration. The company’s customers aren’t even all humans, with one client using its platform on every robot in its warehouse robot division, according to Cho.
“They’re running ARM64 processors, and they will send the log data directly to us,” Cho said. “Robot is no different from a server is no different from an application is no different from a router.”
Last month, LogDNA announced a new streaming service, built in conjunction with IBM on the IBM Cloud.
“We realized as were ingesting a log data, consumers wanted to access subsets of that data in other systems, such as your radar or security product,” Cho said. “So we ended up taking a subset of that data, we stream it out into those systems, so we’re taking those capabilities and then bring it into our direct product.”
Focusing on making the user’s experience as streamlined as possible is the company’s main focus, Cho explained, with customer satisfaction being the company’s ultimate goal.
