CDW partners with Palo Alto to enhance security through end-to-end managed capabilities
In the modern enterprise world, security issues go beyond ransomware attacks to include risk governance, vulnerability management and building a zero-trust framework.
As Palo Alto Networks Inc.’s Authorized Training Partner, CDW LLC offers advisory and consulting services that enable enterprises to rationalize the security aspect in their IT infrastructure, according to Stephanie Hagopian (pictured), vice president of cybersecurity at CDW.
“We want our clients to understand that there are going to be elements of what they do that they want to keep in-house from a security perspective,” Hagopian said. “We actually are a Palo Authorized Training Partner. And we’re incredibly proud of that fact, because we don’t just want to configure technology. We have end-to-end managed capabilities as well, and we continue to enhance that part of our business.”
Hagopian spoke with theCUBE industry analysts Lisa Martin and Dave Vellante at Ignite ’22, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the CDW-Palo Alto partnership and how it’s revamping the security scene. (* Disclosure below.)
Zero trust comes into the picture
CDW complements Palo Alto’s platform approach with a workforce development team for security, according to Hagopian, who said that this enhances zero trust.
“We want them to take their Palo investment and try to create a platform approach, because there’s simplicity and cost savings in that,” she said. “We’re doing the same exact thing and focusing on zero trust. The security conversation’s becoming a CFO conversation. And we’re right in line with Palo in that we want to provide those capabilities end to end.”
CDW acquisitions have been a catalyst to better security solutions, Hagopian pointed out. This is because security is not just an IT issue, but also a business one.
“The acquisitions have given us over 400 delivery resources, consultants, advisors,” she noted. “People who can actually engage with our clients, who have real-life experience, have worked with global organizations, some of the biggest companies in the world in order to solve their problems. And using that experience to be able to really create higher value as we interact and engage.”
