Data protection outfit BigID Inc. has debuted what it calls data remediation suggestions to help overworked security teams deal with any problems involving their company’s most sensitive information.

Announced today, the new offering provides real-time intelligence into the risks affecting sensitive data, as well as recommendations on the actions that can be taken to remediate any risks identified.

BigID explains in a blog post that security teams often use a myriad of tools to secure and monitor their company’s assets, and as a result, they face an overwhelming number of alerts. Consolidating and prioritizing these alerts is challenging enough, but added to that is the difficulty in deciding on the best course of action to deal with those challenges effectively and in a timely manner.

The company says it wants to give security teams a nudge in the right direction when assessing and dealing with data security issues, helping them create a more secure data environment overall. The new Data Remediation Suggestions tool does exactly that.

It’s powered by an artificial intelligence-based recommendation engine that absorbs all of the notifications and warnings about data risks. It assesses each one in real time in order to prioritize those that are most urgent, and then indicates the most optimal course of action to remediate the danger. BigID said its recommendations are based on the last known actions that were carried out on similar types of sensitive data within the environment.

For security teams, Data Remediation Suggestions acts as a lifeline, helping them to make quick, informed decisions about the data threats they face, the company said.
