Onapsis and Deloitte partner to enhance SAP cybersecurity and compliance

Cybersecurity and compliance solution startup Onapsis Inc. today announced a new strategic alliance with Deloitte to help their shared clients transform and secure their SAP digital transformation projects.

The alliance brings together Deloitte’s SAP cyber risk management capabilities with Onapsis’ platform focused on securing enterprise resource planning systems. With the partnership, both companies will now offer clients services and solutions that assist them in mitigating cybersecurity threats and safeguarding their digital assets, all while utilizing broad SAP security approaches.

The combined offering delivers vulnerability management through Deloitte’s VM offering for SAP, that encompasses cyber assessment, strategy, design, configuration and integration services that align to leading standards and SAP recommended guidelines. The offering will also allow shared clients to leverage the Onapsis Assess platform to establish a secure-by-design framework for SAP implementations.

Doing so, the companies said, establishes a safeguarded SAP environment at the outset, reducing the cost of work required to remediate vulnerabilities post-live and bridging the gap between cybersecurity and ERP teams.

Secure software development is also delivered through Deloitte’s Secure Software Development and DevSecOps offering, alongside the Onapsis Assess and Onapsis Control platforms, into every stage of a client’s development processes in SAP to build security, compliance and quality checks. The combination automatically scans code in development, examines transports during release and continuously monitors code in production, allowing clients to achieve a strong agile foundation for continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.

On the cybersecurity side, Deloitte’s Threat Detection and Monitoring offering leverages the Onapsis Defend platform, combining Deloitte’s SAP-specific library of security use cases and research from Onapsis Research Labs. The pairing provides clients and security teams the visibility and context needed to speed response to threats targeting ERP applications.

Clients can also integrate with existing security operations center technologies such as security information and event management, which offers the flexibility to incorporate enterprise resource planning incidents, root cause analysis and mitigation guidance into broader security management and incident response processes.

“While most organizations continue to pioneer their digital transformations, Deloitte offers our clients ways to transform securely and in compliance with each organization’s specific regulatory and organizational needs,” Sachin Singh, risk and financial advisory managing director in cyber and strategic risk at Deloitte, said in a statement. “Offering Onapsis capabilities fully embedded within our SAP methodology is another demonstration of Deloitte’s continued investment in the growing cybersecurity ecosystem.”
