Zillow’s AI revolution: How Snowflake’s Data Cloud is transforming real estate
Snowflake Inc. built its AI Data Cloud as a single platform to bring data and workloads together.
The ability to integrate internal and external data sources is proving to be attractive for a number of businesses, including Zillow Inc., the online real estate marketplace.

“It’s not only about using your own data,” said Denise Persson (pictured, right), chief marketing officer of Snowflake. “You want to be able to use data from data providers such as Zillow. You might want to combine that with weather data … to build an application. That’s also one of the core propositions of the Snowflake AI Data Cloud.”
Persson spoke with theCUBE’s analysts Dave Vellante and Rebecca Knight at Data Cloud Summit, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. She was joined by Ravi Kandikonda (left), senior vice president of marketing at Zillow, and they discussed how today’s use of AI is transforming customer interactions and the marketing profession. Snowflake Inc. and Zillow expand capabilities for home buyers and sellers
Zillow’s platform has evolved from a search repository for home listings to a site where users can find loans, connect with agents or take advantage of a variety of real estate products. Snowflake’s AI offerings will play a role in Zillow’s strategic approach going forward, according to Kandikonda.
“We used to be a search platform … we’re now more than search,” he said. “We want our customers to know that they can actually come onto the site and find a loan … find an agent and transact. All of that with AI is going to get easier and hopefully more effective especially when we are sending messages to customers.”
Zillow’s platform has evolved along with advances in the marketing field as well. The technology tools provided by Snowflake and other partners associated with Zillow’s business have served to transform how Kandikonda views the marketing mission.
“The definition of marketing has evolved,” Kandikonda said. “I think of it as equal parts creative, equal parts technology, equal parts data and equal parts execution and operations. That is an amazing training ground for all the things we can do for customers and internal stakeholders.”
