Front acquires Idiomatic to bolster AI-driven customer service solutions
Artificial intelligence-powered customer service platform provider FrontApp Inc. today announced it has acquired AI-powered voice-of-customer intelligence platform startup Idiomatic Inc. for an undisclosed price.
Founded in 2016 and known commonly as Front, Idiomatic offers an AI-driven customer intelligence platform that is designed to help businesses transform customer feedback into actionable insights. The platform analyzes data from different sources, such as surveys, social media, app reviews and help desks, to uncover the underlying reasons behind customer sentiments and issues.
The company’s offerings include customer feedback analytics, sentiment analysis and customer experience management. The platform enables companies to identify pain points, improve customer satisfaction and retain loyal users by categorizing and quantifying customer input. The platform’s marketing intelligence capabilities also help brands refine their messaging and monitor campaign effectiveness.
One notable feature offered by Idiomatic is its use of custom data labels, which tailor the analysis to the unique language of each business. The feature allows companies to bridge the gap between customer terminology and internal processes while surfacing trends that might otherwise be missed. Real-time integrations with tools like Zendesk Inc. and Salesforce Inc. also ensure businesses have up-to-date insights at their fingertips.
Idiomatic customers include Upwork Global Inc., Pinterest Inc., Instacart, HubSpot Inc. and Slack.
The acquisition of Idiomatic will enhance Front’s ability to deliver automated insights, such as inferred customer satisfaction and product feedback, directly from every customer conversation, irrespective of whether the conversation involves an agent or AI. By unlocking previously siloed customer service data, Front is aiming to empower businesses to make smarter, customer-centric and data-driven decisions.
“Idiomatic’s expertise in both AI and voice-of-customer analytics will redefine how Front’s 9,000+ customers engage with and learn from their customers,” said Front Chief Executive Dan O’Connell. “This acquisition will strengthen Front’s position in the customer service space, helping turn customer feedback into actionable data for all.”
As part of the acquisition, Idiomatic founder and CEO Kevin Yang has been appointed to drive Front’s AI strategy and product roadmap moving forward. Idiomatic’s research and development team will also be joining Front.
Coming into its acquisition, Idiomatic had raised a single round of $4 million, according to Tracxn. Investors included Freestyle Capital, Gaingels Syndicate, Hyphen Capital and Xoogler Angels.
Front is also a venture capital-backed company, having raised $204 million over six rounds, including rounds of $65 million on a $1.7 billion valuation in June 2022 and $10 million in 2016.
