AWS partner innovation aims to drive industry-specific AI solutions

This year’s AWS re:Invent conference has reinforced the level of action, hype and buzz in the industry around AI. But the reality is that AI still needs to be deployed, and the event was a chance to learn more about the practical solutions and AWS partner innovation being utilized to get there.

Moving data to the cloud has long been important. When one looks at how data is used and how it’s being specifically tied to use cases, it’s industry-specific, according to Chris Niederman (pictured, right), managing director of AWS industry and global partner solutions at Amazon Web Services Inc.

“We’re always interested in how do we help our customers achieve the best outcomes,” he said. “The best way we can do that is helping them understand, industry by industry, use case by use case, and then all the solutions per use case. We’re just laser-focused on the industry solutions that require the data in the cloud, especially when we’re adopting gen AI.”

Niederman and Ralph Hengstenberg (pictured, left), director of industry marketing at AWS, spoke with theCUBE Research’s John Furrier for theCUBE’s “Cloud AWS re:Invent coverage,” during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the critical role of industry-specific use cases in driving cloud adoption and the growing importance of AWS partner innovation through domain expertise and technical enablement.

AWS partner innovation seen as critical

There has been yet another wave of announcements at this year’s AWS re:Invent. When it comes to technical enablement, what’s been demonstrated in the industry pavilion is really coming to life now, according to Hengstenberg.

“Partners are absolutely critical to us, but what we’ve seen a lot of traction in is that it’s now becoming real,” he said. “Every single one of our demonstrations has got end customers behind them that have deployed, as well as partners as part of the ecosystem.”

Moving forward, there’s likely to continue to be a focus on industry solutions and use cases, Hengstenberg addd. Generative AI is expected to be ubiquitous throughout that process.

“I think this is, for us, it’s absolutely core,” he said.
