Data integration platform provider Nexla Inc. today announced the launch of Express, a conversational data engineering platform designed to make it simple for anyone to work with data.
Express has been created to address what Nexla says is a bottleneck in artificial intelligence adoption: the complex, time-consuming process of preparing and integrating data from multiple sources to create context for AI.
The new offering introduces an agentic AI framework that understands user intent, figures out where the data resides and automatically connects, transforms and prepares it for use. The focus is on simplicity, with users able to simply describe what they need in natural language, such as “Pull customer data from Salesforce and combine it with website analytics from Google and create a data product,” and Express automatically finds, connects and prepares the right data.
“Now, anyone who knows the outcome they want can work with data conversationally and reliably and unlock the data they need in minutes,” explained co-founder and Chief Executive Saket Saurabh. “It’s data engineering transformed into context engineering.”
Express allows teams to be successful with data by eliminating long wait times that slow innovation. For analysts, the offering allows for the building of customer dashboards with data from multiple sources in minutes instead of days; AI engineers can use Express to stitch richer context across databases, application programming interfaces, documents and multimedia to power AI-based assistants and workflows; and using Express, claims processing teams can instantly convert claims and policy documents to structured data for processing and risk analysis.
Marketing managers can use Express to directly connect campaign platforms to sales data, measuring return on investment in real time and operations managers can use the offering to independently aggregate logistics data from multiple providers without custom integrations.
The company notes that whether a developer, analyst or business user, Express can be used to create secure, production-ready data pipelines in minutes, without writing code. The result makes data accessible to the entire organization at a time when speed, security and compliance are more critical than ever.
Nexla is a venture capital-backed startup that has raised $33.5 million over three rounds. Investors in the company include Shield Capital Partners, Blumberg Capital, Engineering Capital, Storm Ventures LP, Industry Ventures and Liberty Global Ventures.
