Exclusive: Guardz brings Palo Alto Networks browser protection to MSPs serving small businesses
Cybersecurity startup Guardz Cyber Ltd. today added browser protection from Palo Alto Networks Inc.’s Prisma Browser for Business to its security platform for managed service providers that protect small businesses.
The integration is aimed at phishing attacks that slip between separate security tools. A typical one starts with an email that lures an employee to a counterfeit login page, and the credentials typed there can put connected accounts at risk. “For most small businesses, the browser is now the office,” said Shivam Srivastava, vice president of product at Palo Alto Networks.
Prisma Browser for Business can block the page when the link is clicked. Guardz then matches that browser event to the original email, related Microsoft 365 activity and endpoint telemetry for the same user identity. From there, the provider and Guardz’s 24/7 managed detection and response team can work the whole chain as a single incident.
The browser-side detection comes from Palo Alto Networks. Inline machine-learning models screen pages for phishing, and Advanced URL Filtering helps block malicious sites, including fake sign-in pages and attacks built to steal live session tokens. The company’s WildFire service analyzes suspect files. Uploads and downloads are scanned as they pass through the browser, which also picks out risky extensions.
Guardz Co-founder and Chief Executive Dor Eisner called the browser “the primary gateway to the modern workspace.” Traditional security tools work in silos that leave gaps in visibility and response, he said, and the agents running on Guardz’s platform are meant to let providers investigate threats autonomously anywhere in that workspace.
Setup falls to Guardz, which handles provisioning and default configuration. Kevin Kehoe of early-access provider Datawise Networks Inc. said the rollout through his firm’s remote monitoring and management software was “super smooth.” Within minutes, he said, the browser extension was “on every Chrome and Edge profile.”
For generative artificial intelligence services used in the browser, Guardz’s AI Usage and Control features let technicians set a separate policy for each client. Those policies can restrict copying, pasting and file transfers by website or by category. Guardz has also introduced a report that gives providers a per-client view of AI tool usage.
Palo Alto Networks moved into enterprise browsers with its 2023 acquisition of Israeli startup Talon Cyber Security Ltd. Prisma Browser for Business, its version for small businesses, went on sale in the U.S. in March.
Guardz is a venture capital-backed startup that has raised $84 million, including a $56 million Series B round led by ClearSky in June 2025.
