Dr. Richard Pelavin

Rich is an entrepreneur and member of SiliconANGLE Labs. Previously, Rich was Director of Engineering at Cisco Systems where he led research and development in network management. He joined Cisco through the acquisition of NetSys Technologies which he also co-founded, and was a key inventor of their flagship intelligent network management product. Rich has extensive experience leading engineering teams focused on a broad range of technologies, such as grid computing, utility data centers, networking, virtualization, and provisioning. He received a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from the University of Rochester. Rich holds numerous patents in networking technologies, and is co-author of a book on AI planning and temporal reasoning.
