Box.net Unveiling Update to Android App

Cloud content management solutions provider Box.net is unveiling an update to its Android app which carries fixes to stability issues, faster and more smooth app performance and of course, two new features  named ‘Create’ and ‘Upload’ connecting supporting devices directly to Box.  From their announcement:

“With these updates, the Box app now interacts seamlessly with your Android device’s native applications without any additional steps or plugins. From our app’s home screen; you can jump straight into a separate application to quickly create a photo, video or audio file, and then return to Box to upload.”

A given Android device’s camera is now directly connected to users’ Box.com account, as users can now easily create content and upload existing one to Box.net in order share files, store audio notes and manage content on-the-go or anywhere a PC wouldn’t fit.

The new update to the Box Android app certainly increases its value for every user from individual to enterprise, as these sorts of moves usually have the potential and capacity to draw a handsome bulk of additional clients. This is especially true in light of Box.net’s recent storage upgrades across their various plans, as the new and improved app provides a landmark in term of Android Box access, and a potentially very advantageous solution for just about every sector.

The personal cloud is becoming of increasing importance in the mboile realm.  We’re seeing a number of developments from competitor DropBox, and a PageOnce report from earlier this week demonstrates the growth in this area.
