TCS Expands with New Data Center in India

Tata Consultancy Services, one of the largest tech firms in India, has plans to set up a new facility in the city of Indore. The cost of the undertaking will be around 550 crore, or about $100 million.

According to The Hindu the new ‘integrated campus’ currently will span 1.5 million square feet once Phase I construction is complete in 2016.  The 100-acre property is wholly subsidized by the government of Madhya Pradesh, a central Indian province that will gain at least 10,000 new jobs thanks to the project.

“Indore has the potential to become another big hub for knowledge-based industries such as IT and BPO. Our investment will help catalyse further development of the talent ecosystem as well as help upgrade civic infrastructure in the area,” S. Mahalingam, CFO & Executive Director, TCS, said in a statement.
