HP Helps China’s TravelSky Drive Airline Industry Evolution

TravelSky Technology Ltd., China’s leading aviation technology supplier, has selected HP Enterprise Services to support development of a next-generation Passenger Services System (PSS) called “New Compass”. TravelSky serves 30 domestic airlines, 200 overseas airlines, 147 domestic airports, and 7,000 ticket agents. It provides services to 300 cities in China and 80 other cities worldwide. HP will provide TravelSky with PSS design and development services for creation of a customizable New Compass to support TravelSky’s growing customer base with flexible, scalable solutions that can adapt to the changing needs of airlines. South Carolina Selects IBM Smarter Cities Software to Modernize Social Program Delivery

The State of South Carolina has selected software from IBM’s Smarter Cities portfolio to modernize its statewide Medicaid eligibility system to transform the delivery of vital health and social programs to its citizens. The Dell Active Fabric Manager provides a graphical single-pane-of-glass planning, configuration, management, and monitoring interface, reducing design and deployment times by up to 80 percent over manual processes. The Dell Networking S5000 converged LAN/SAN platform is Dell’s first 1U modular, top-of-rack switch providing pay-as-you-grow Ethernet and Fibre Channel connectivity. More

MetroPCS Selects Cisco IPv6 to Enable 4G LTE and Next-Generation Mobile Internet Delivery

MetroPCS Communications Inc. has started the commercial roll-out of its Cisco Carrier-Grade Internet Protocol version 6 (CGv6) Solution as the first step in the transition of its mobile Internet network to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), the latest revision of IP that routes voice, data, and video traffic across the Internet. The fifth-largest U.S. facilities-based wireless service provider, MetroPCS is also using Cisco Services to perform critical system integration by leading the design, testing, and production enablement of IPv6 in a multi-vendor mobile Internet network. E&Y Finds Europe New Focus in Non-Performing Loan Market

While the U.S. non-performing loan (NPL) market remained active in 2012 and the focus of many global investors, the latest E&Y report, Flocking to Europe: Ernst & Young 2013 Non-Performing Loan Report, finds that Europe is emerging as an NPL market in its own right, with an estimated €1 trillion in NPLs on balance sheets of the region’s banks. “This year’s survey indicates an increasing appetite among investors on both sides of the Atlantic for European NPL product as they look to both diversify their investments and access potentially higher returns on a nascent market,” says Christopher Sayfarth, a partner in Ernst & Young LLP’s Transaction Real Estate practice. More
