Called Presence Pro Care, the system utilizes a set of sensors that will keep track of aging loved one and notify users quickly of any changes via a smartphone app.

The Open Interconnect Consortium (OIC) has acquired UPnP Forum, a connected world standards association. The acquisition aims to address the issue of interoperability among the growing number of connected devices.

Report: Consumers want pricy smartwatches with heart rate monitors instead of fitness trackers

The novelty of fitness trackers may be wearing off, as a new report claims that consumers are now more interested in smartwatches that offer the same features and more. The report from Argus Insights, Inc. also notes that heart rate monitoring is on top of consumers’ checklists when shopping for a smartwatch.
