Avaya Breeze challenges DevOps to get creative with its new tools | #EC16

At this week’s Enterprise Connect event, Avaya, Inc. will join several other companies in unveiling products intended to enhance business productivity and communications. Avaya’s offerings this year will focus on two items in particular, Avaya Breeze and the Avaya Snapp Store.

Avaya Breeze is an extension of the company’s established Avaya Engagement Development Platform, though it points to its increased functionalities as heralding the “next generation” of this utility suite. With automation, multi-platform capability, mobile accessibility, and open APIs for ease of integration, Avaya Breeze has been tailored toward easy adoption by new customers. The platform itself is intended for speedier creation of “workflow-based applications,” with rates of hours and days given for tasks estimated to have previously taken months.

The Avaya Snapp Store will be an integral part of this service, acting as a marketplace for business applications that run under the Avaya Breeze framework. These applications, termed “Snap-Ins”, will be created and sold by Avaya, as well as third-party developers, with sales providing additional revenues on top of the expected improvements in productivity. Avaya has emphasized that these Snap-Ins will have a focus on “fit-for-purpose” serviceability, rather than going for broad multi-purpose tools and correspondent bloat.

Already citing “thousands of developers from global enterprises” as participants in Avaya Breeze demonstrations, development and seminars, Avaya announced that five of these third-party developers will be in attendance at Avaya’s booth for Enterprise Connect 2016. The list of developers included eGain, WEBTEXT, Moxtra, Verbio and Approved Contact, with Snap-Ins covering a range of functions from voice-recognition security to SMS connectivity.

Announcing that they are “issuing a challenge to the industry to creatively address the major challenges facing businesses and consumers today” through the use of Avaya Breeze, the company is certain to stir buzz and considerable response from its competitors and interested businesses.
