Watch live: IBM wants to fast-track your data

How is IBM Corp. fast-tracking data, particularly in regards to differentiating its products for speeding up the machine learning development pipeline, data ingestion and data modeling?

Looking to answer this question and others, SiliconANGLE is at the IBM Fast Track Your Data event, taking place in Munich, Germany, with exclusive commentary and interviews from our roving news desk, theCUBE. (* Disclosure below.)

IBM’s machine learning portfolio has had consistent product launches over the past 18 months. As part of its $3 billion global investment in Watson Internet of Things, IBM has allocated more than $200 million to its global Watson IoT headquarters in Munich. But IBM is facing escalating pressure to start productizing in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

“The industry is waiting for IBM to get serious about going real deep on artificial intelligence to contend with strong pushes from Google and Microsoft,” said James Kobielus, lead analyst for data science, deep learning and application development at Wikibon, owned by the same parent company as SiliconANGLE.

Earlier this month, IBM announced a partnership with Hortonworks Inc. that will combine the company’s data science offering with Hortonworks’ software platform for managing huge amounts of data. At the start of this year, IBM announced its support for Google Inc.’s TensorFlow machine learning framework.

One of the presentations at the Munich-based event will explore the enterprise impact of the European Union’s new General Data Protection Regulation set to go live in less than a year. With this presentation in mind, theCUBE expects announcements from IBM with regards to its hyper-data management, unified governance and data science products.

Keynote speakers at the IBM Fast Track Your Data event include IBM executives Rob Thomas, general manager of IBM analytics platform; Marc Altshuller, general manager of IBM business analytics; Seth Dobrin, vice president and chief data officer for IBM analytics; and Dinesh Nirmal, vice president of IBM analytics development.

Other keynote speakers include Hilary Mason, co-founder of Fast Forward Labs Inc. and data scientist in residence at Accel Partners, and Dez Blanchfield, strategy and policy consultant for the Australian Federal Government and head of digital business, resident data scientist at Flexdata Solutions Pty. Ltd.
