Watch live: Where’s Nutanix on its journey beyond hyperconverged infrastructure?

How is Nutanix Inc. doing on its journey to expand its product portfolio beyond hyperconverged infrastructure, or HCI, to enterprise cloud solutions?

Looking to answer this and other questions, SiliconANGLE is at the Nutanix .NEXT E.U. Conference, currently underway in Nice, France, with exclusive commentary and interviews from our roving news desk, theCUBE. (* Disclosure below.) This week’s Nutanix .NEXT Conference will explore what the cloud means for the enterprise.

Nutanix has started to reap the benefits of its new sales strategy that saw the company focusing on a small number of large accounts, 11 of which have spent more than $10 million. With its surge in large enterprise deals, Nutanix closed its first year as a public company with final quarter revenues of $226.1 million, up 62 percent from a year ago.

At its .NEXT Conference in Washington, D.C. in June, Nutanix announced Google’s parent Alphabet Inc. would integrate Nutanix technology into Google Cloud. “They’re going to take that full Nutanix stack and make it available in Google data centers around the world, and we expect them to expand those partnerships,” said Stu Miniman, senior analyst at Wikibon, owned by the same company as SiliconANGLE. “The Google announcement gives Nutanix credibility.”

The company has seen a large increase in customers from Southeast Asia from a broad range of industries who are choosing the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform; these include e-commerce giant Tokopedia PT and the world’s largest event organizers Reed Exhibitions Inc.

Adoption of Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor has seen a 214 percent growth since the end of fiscal year 2016 to the end of fiscal year 2017 with state, local and education customers. Last month, Nutanix introduced a virtual machine migration tool, which will migrate virtual machines from VMware Inc.’s ESXi to its own Acropolis hypervisor.

Keynote speakers at the Nutanix .NEXT E.U. Conference include Nutanix executives Dheeraj Pandey, founder and chief executive officer; Sunil Potti, chief product officer; Chris Kaddaras, vice president of EMEA; Satyam Vaghani, vice president of technology; Raja Mukapadhyay, vice president of product management; and Sudheesh Nair, president.

Other guest speakers include Bob Picciano, senior vice president at IBM Corp.; Christine Ockrent, journalist and former chief operating officer of France 24 and Radio France Internationale; Anja Manuel, co-founder and managing partner of RiceHadleyGates LLC; and Rob Lloyd, chief executive officer of Hyperloop One Inc.
