Hurricane Party for Japan, Tonight at SXSW
It’s Sunday at SXSW, which really doesn’t mean much for your party schedule. If you’re looking for a good cause to party for, however, head to Kenchi (419 Colorado St) for the Hurricane Party for Japan Relief Efforts. The event is raising funds for the Red Cross efforts in Japan, and will feature a live auction, conducted by the famed Texas Auctioneer George Vaught. Hurricane Party is an iPhone app for socially organizing your events.
When the Hurricane Party team read about the natural disaster in Japan, it made us rethink the purpose and potential of SXSW. This festival is known for its parties–which we love–but SXSW is also a magnet for smart, socially conscious people who are taking on some of the biggest challenges in our society. We want to bring together the SXSW community to help the victims and families affected by this tragedy.
