New Apple iPod Touch Rumors Swirl Around Sep 1st Event

Rumors have surfaced of Apple announcing a new iPod Touch at a press conference, on 1st September, in SanFransisco.  From implications of the the guitar image on the invitation card to the negotiations with music label, it all seems to generate some buzz. It is said that the big announcement of the press conference might be either the new iPod Touch or updates on the cloud based music service, or about Apple TV… or even all of them.

However, most expect that Apple CEO Steve Jobs, himself, will  unveil the new iPod Touch on 1st September. InformationWeek reports :

Though Apple, infamous for its secrecy, is mum on details about the new product, analysts believe the new iPod Touch will feature dual cameras—one rear facing and one that’s forward facing. A front-facing camera would allow users to use Apple’s FaceTime video conferencing app on the iPod Touch.

The new device also could include more storage capacity. The largest available currently for iPod Touch is 64GB, on the model that sells for $399.

If the announcement  is the new iPod Touch, it will certainly boost sales for the market leader.  The conjectures around the Apple September event are all media-centric, looking to a more fluid use of Apple devices and product add-ons.  Whatever is announced will surely hold high expectations for the coming holiday season, and it’s high time Apple reiterated its dedication to consumer entertainment, as Android begins to creep into this territory.  The rest of the industry still seems to think Apple’s got it–yesterday brought the official launch of the Netflix app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
