Atlantis Joins The VMware Technology Alliance, Adding to Virtualization Offerings

Atlantis Computing, a provider of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure storage and performance optimization, is launching its VDI Solution Partner Program today. This comes through a new partnership with VMware Premier and Citrix Platinum Solution Partners, offering a more complete solution for enterprise clients. The announcement comes on the first day of VMworld, where we’re hosting live coverage from The CUBE.

“We are working with a lot of customers that are in the process of planning VDI deployments and see that IT organizations are finding it challenging to build a compelling business case for VDI compared to physical PCs,” said Peter Castaldi, Principal and Co-Founder of Kovarus Technology Solutions. “If we can lower the cost per VDI desktop with Atlantis ILIO, we can expand both the number of VDI desktops per customer and the total number of customers that will deploy VDI.”

The new offerings are designed to enable enterprise clients to reduce costs around desktop performance optimization, particularly for those seeking a more seamless integration process as they move more IT solutions to the cloud. To this end, Atlantis ILIO is integrated with both Citrix and VMware, as well as Quest and other VDI offerings. It seeks to intelligently optimize around Microsoft Windows operating systems, and their interactions with VDI storage.

The new VDI Solution Partner Program comes just a week after Atlantis announced $10 million in Series C funding, led by Cisco, further validating Atlantis’ role as a hopeful startup in the virtualization space.
