We’re Live at Hadoop World, Rocking the Cloud. Tune Into #theCUBE!

SiliconANGLE founder John Furrier and Wikibon.org founder Dave Vellante are at it again.  Our “resident anchormen” have been traveling the world with #theCUBE, covering the cloud from every angle.  This week they’re at Hadoop World, an event we’ve especially been looking forward to for several weeks now.  Backed by Cloudera, Hadoop’s open-source cloud tools are making their way to the enterprise–a move made crystal clear at this second annual Hadoop conference in NYC.

This year Tim O’Reilly is headlining the conference, with a number of other special guests, speakers and companies being represented.  Cloudera itself is making a few announcements, including the launch of OraOop and releasing Hadoop Beta 3.  Be sure to catch our constant coverage of Hadoop World, here at SiliconANGLE’s blog (look to the right –>), as well as SiliconANGLE.tv, our very own network channel, and a first of its kind.

“Hadoop is going mainstream beyond the typical Web 2.0 culprits like Yahoo, Google, Facebook and Twitter and into traditional industries such as financial services, manufacturing and life sciences,” says Dave Vellante.  “Hadoop is all about analyzing and managing data – lots of data – and everyone has tons of data to manage. Hadoop is exploding with typical deployments well over 100TBs and many at the petabyte and many thousand node scale. Data is growing faster than the machines’ abilities to keep up and Hadoop is one of the solutions that will solve this problem.”

Here are the top 5 reasons Hadoop World is a killer this year:

5. Hear from Tim O’Reilly, keynote speaker!
As the founder of the technology transfer company, O’Reilly Media, Tim O’Reilly’s mission has always been to spread the knowledge of technology innovators. Come lend your ears to O’Reilly’s message and absorb the insightful wisdom Tim always imparts when he speaks. You will not be disappointed!IMG_1683

4. Get trained on Hadoop
Surrounding Hadoop World are several training sessions from Cloudera designed to help you get the very best out of Hadoop and related projects. Whether you’re a manager who needs an introduction to the subject; a developer who needs to learn how to write MapReduce code; a systems administrator who needs to know how to specify, deploy and manage Hadoop clusters; or a data analyst who wants to leverage Hive and Pig to manipulate huge amounts of data; we have just the right training available. Sign up for any of these training sessions and receive complimentary entry into Hadoop World!

3. See how Hadoop is used in your industry
Presentations at Hadoop World represent a range of industries including financial services, web services, government, telecommunications and more. Attend Hadoop World to find valuable ideas for your business, and see for yourself how users within your industry have improved their data management and analysis with Hadoop.

2. Choose from thirty-six great presentations
Hadoop World is packed with great content for you. There are four tracks during the conference, each containing nine different presentations. Choose those that interest you most and consider bringing along colleagues in order to get as much exposure to the material as possible.

1. See how Hadoop solves real-world business problems
Hadoop World will feature presentations by organizations using Hadoop to solve real-world business problems. By attending, you’ll gain real insight into how you can use Hadoop to solve your own problems, and how Hadoop can be beneficial to your enterprise.
