How Executives Are Using Social Media

The ever increasing popularity of social media has changed a lot of things. It has essentially made internet two-way explains Tom Foremski, an accomplished analyst and SiliconAngle contributor. The influence of Social Media can be seen in the way business is done. Rather, the increasing number of consultancy companies in the “social media for corporates” category stress, that the social media front can’t be ignored, while making a company’s public relations policy. More and more companies are utilizing the interactive nature of Social Media to engage consumers ,thus, fostering brand loyalty.

In this whole scenario the views and vision of top management about Social Media are very important. SocialCast has compiled an InfoGraphic “How Executives Are Using Social Media“.  The statistics show that LinkedIn is the most popular networking site with 92% top executives using it. Factors as trust, influence on decision making, usage frequency have been discussed in context of Social Media. A general trend of increased usage was observed specially for content distribution and marketing purposes. The InfoGraphic also present reasons for the hesitation of top executives in using Social Media.

Earlier this week we also noted the rise of corporate blogging, and the many ways in which it’s being used, by executives and beyond.  See here for more details on that report.
