Juniper Networks VP on Cyber Epidemics Awareness, Mobile Security

“Why aren’t we educating people?” – Bob Dix, the vice-president of Juniper Networks, made a parallel between the need of making population aware of the cyber threats, just as the U.S. government succeeded back in 2009 with the H1N1 pandemic flu. At that stage, both private and public sectors were involved in putting over the global issue.

Bob Dix, working for the U.S. government and critical infrastructure protection, systemized the current issue of the security standards as a “cyber epidemic”. His speech taken at the Executive Leadership Conference in Williamsburg, VA was strongly supported by Sherri Ramsay – the director of the National Security Agency/Central Security Service’s Threat Operations Center. At the same conference, Bob Dix announced the development of some new mobile security tools.

The general idea stated by Bob Dix implied the fact that systems which have implemented security standards are more difficult to be penetrated. The raising awareness of the public sector is a step further to the current implementation of the NSA’s programs regarding the developing security of the content and data.
