Bing’s Upswing! 108% Growth Since Last Year.

Compete released the Top 50 websites ranking for September 2010. The report comprises good news for Bing, which gained a 108% raising in new visitors, in comparison to the last year. In the same positive benchmark there is also Ask.com, which shows increasing visits up to 75.3%.

On the other hand, the statistics were not encouraging for MySpace and MapQuest. They have experienced decreasing interest – only 19.1%, respectively 22.1% in terms of new visitors. The Compete’s report also mentions Flickr.com as having a decline regarding the new visitors – 14% for September.

In the overall landscape of the top 50 websites, Bing justifies some of his extension to Yahoo!’s lately enhancements. As the last mentioned is completely powered by Bing, Yahoo! is trying to keep the pace by improving its services. For example, during the CEO Carl Bartz’s period, Yahoo was subject to several updates. Recently, the launch of Yahoo Connect triggered new interest. Meanwhile, Google responses with the implementation of a new service, called Place Search.

The struggle between the ranking websites is benefit for the consumer and Compete is known for observing and analyzing the behavior and the influences that dominate the large masses of online clients. The data are wisely used by top companies such as Carlson Hotels Worldwide, Hyundai Motor America, Upromise, Chrysler, and Verizon Wireless.

Bing’s had steady growth since launching well over a year ago, taking bites at Google’s search market share with frequent updates to Maps in particular.  Microsoft’s search utility now completely powers Yahoo search in the US and Canada, and even Google’s making tweaks to is visual search aids that appear similar to format’s Bing’s been using for some time.
