WordPress Official on Nokia, Launches Food Vertical

WordPress is doing its best in order to maintain the position in their struggle for top position over Posterous & Tumblr. Today WordPress has launched an official app for Nokia smartphones and more, they are trying to gain more terrain in the eyes of the cooking passionate.

Ovi Store – Nokia’s marketplace for mobile applications has now featured a WordPress blogging software that is supposed to work on N97 and X6. The compatibility between the new launched app and N8, C6 or C7 is to be enhanced further.

After releasing similar mobile applications for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry, WordPress gives now the opportunity for Nokia users to update their blogs wherever they are. The new apps supports WordPress 2.7 and it can also be improved or customized by keen coders.

On the other side of passionate bloggers, FoodPress is a new featured introduced today in order to bring altogether the most inspired food-related posts over the internet.

The FoodPress will be run in partnership with Federated Media and it will publish on a daily basis the most suitable blogs on food topics. The new posts will be hand-picked by the FoodPress’s editor, Jane Maynard, who will choose the most related-food tagged articles.  See details here, and see a bit of the history of WordPress here, as it battled its way to the top.
