Enterprise storage systems provider Compellent today announced that Fusion Systems, a Tokyo-based IT consulting and software provider, is now an official channel partner of the company, strengthening its reach in to the Asia Pacific market.
“Compellent appointed Fusion Systems because of the firm’s knowledge and experience supplying and supporting advanced technology solutions to commercial clients and enterprises throughout the Asia Pacific region.”
Fusion Systems will not be promoting Compellent’s offerings to the Asia Pacific market without any help, as it will be able to take advantage of Compellent’s “unique all-channel” including its online partner portal and supporting sales model. Compellent doesn’t seem to take the approach many of its competitors do, as instead of a direct sales strategy to promote their offerings on top of their resellers’ efforts – now also listing Fusion Systems – they concentrate their resources around boosting the resellers’ operations. This approach can prove to be particularly effective in some cases, especially in the scales Compellent is operating in.
The company has been working to boost its global sales fairly hard, among others, and as mentioned here, some rumors that surrounded the leading storage vendor’s partnering plans even managed to raise its shares by an impressive 13% in Oct. 16th this year. In business some moves turn out to be more effective than others, as the partnership with Fusion Systems still have a lot of time to turn either way.
