Rackspace Bolsters its Enterprise Services
Rackspace is now boosting its enterprise services by offering two new products; Cloud Connect and Critical Sites. With the launch of these products, the company will help businesses to choose compute platforms and use service offerings to meet their IT requirements.
“Businesses of all sizes and budgets now have access to Enterprise-class infrastructure, backed by our industry-leading Fanatical Support,” said John Engates, chief technology officer for Rackspace. “The recent additions to our portfolio, including Cloud Connect and Critical Sites, make logical business sense for those looking for best-in-class hosted solutions as alternatives to expensive and inefficient on-premise IT infrastructure.”
Let’s take a quick look at the both products offered by Rackspace.
Cloud Connect:
It is actually an extension of Rackspace’s Fanatical Support® and will interact using a single account team. Moreover, it will not be charged for the bandwidth within the Cloud Connect infrastructure. It will be first released as a beta version.
“As a growing company with millions of users, we have significant scaling requirements that are being addressed very successfully with Rackspace’s Hybrid Hosting approach,” stated Brian Corrigan, CTO, Major League Gaming, a Rackspace customer.
“We wanted the best of both worlds – dedicated physical hardware for our performance-intensive applications as well as the on-demand scalability provided by The Rackspace Cloud to drive our high-traffic live events. This combination allows us to continually tailor our environment to deliver the best experience for our gamers. As the largest online professional video game league in the world, we face the same challenges as many traditional enterprises who are looking to maximize their online investments while at the same time gaining greater architectural flexibility.”
It is an extension of Fanatical Support into application layer and is specially designed to deliver critical support to applications of utmost importance. This service will also offer the specialized tools and expertise for maximizing the infrastructure performance.
The addition of both these products in its portfolio is expected to help Rackspace to meet the growing demands of its customers and offer them a world-class experience.
Rackspace has been trucking right along lately, bulking out its team. The company brought in several new hires across its different sectors, prepping for the coming year.
