Whitney noted in his blog that there would they will be introducing new features with the launch of other versions:

“This is the first time we’ve done a public beta for a mobile app here at LinkedIn and we have more features we’ll be launching in upcoming versions. But given the demand, we wanted to get this out to you for the holidays and look forward to hearing from you what works and what new features and scenarios you’d like to see in future versions.”

The new Beta app supports mobile features and let users view updates from professional network, search for people to discover things in common and establish new connections, respond invitations sent from people in their professional life and keep in touch with connections in LinkedIn.

The app is now available worldwide on all Android OS 2.1 or higher version phones.
