What Social Sharing was All About in 2010
One of the largest sharing network on the web, Clearspring, has revealed its top 10 shares for 2010. These kick off with the oil-covered Nahanni Johnstone and her daughter with 107K shares, Italian soccer player Daniele De Rossi’s fall with 110K, and the diaper-wearing Samba dancing Brazilian baby, with 112K shares.
Moving further up the list, the third from top in Clearspring’s top 10 is the Chinese alternative of Susan Boyle with 192K shares. The second place is taken by paper cut collages with 330K shares and number one place is the unfortunate murder-suicide incident which involved the Dallas mayor, with 428,761 shares.
Clearspring had progressed a lot this year. This infographic describes how the leading bookmarking and sharing service AddThis which was acquired by Clearspring quite time some ago was installed on 7 million domains in 2010. This enabled it to reach 1 billion users monthly and support over 300 services. Clearspring has since turned AddThis into a powerful brand marketing tool, furthering the reach and effectiveness of its network.
The infographic continues to describe that Facebook dominates 33% of the sharing volume, putting it on ahead of G-mail and StumbleUpon. Nonetheless, while Facebook experienced a +163% growth rating, StumbleUpon and G-mail grew +254% and +394% this year. Twitter has seen a +105% growth rate, putting it behind Facebook, but according to the infographic, e-mail as a whole is only 38% bigger than the micro-blogging platform in the sharing segment.
