Craigslist Planning Big Expansion?

There was an interesting tidbit in Therese Poletti’s Tech Tales on MarketWatch this week:

Another recent move was by Craigslist, which had long occupied a Victorian in the mostly residential Inner Sunset neighborhood. The online classified ads firm, which was started as an email list of San Francisco events by Craig Newmark in 1995, moved to a mixed retail and office building a few blocks from tony Union Square. Craigslist, which has 30 employees according to its website, leased 14,000 square feet, giving it room for growth. A spokeswoman declined to comment.

With 30 employees, the cubicles will be fantastic at about 460 square feet each!

I will ask Craig Newmark what he’s up to and report back.
