Early this morning, Juniper Networks has informed that it’s Ethernet Network and services will be utilized by New World Telecommunications Ltd. This will include Juniper’s MX960 and MX480 3D Universal Edge Routers to support Metro Ethernet services at mobile operators and business customers in Hong Kong.
“New World Telecom has to conform to some very stringent service level agreements with its mobile network customers that will become even more demanding — especially in terms of latency — as they migrate their networks to LTE,” said Mike Marcellin, vice president, product marketing and business strategy, Platform Systems Group, Juniper Networks. “The selection of Juniper by New World Telecom affirms the flexibility and scalability of the MX Series and Junos OS in next-generation Metro Ethernet deployments.”
Besides this achievement, Juniper also won a contract with Nokia-Siemens Networks for the launch of the Carrier Ethernet Transport 2.0 (CET 2.0) that will help operators to balance capacity and cost in their Ethernet access network. The partnership was concluded just a few days back and also includes new features for Nokia Siemens Networks’ ASPEN network management system.
Additionally, Juniper has been making several other developments too including its participation in the Eclipse Foundation, forwarding its steps in open cloud development. By joining this community, Juniper has extended its open software development arm and hence capabilities to build applications on Junos software products.
“In joining the Eclipse Foundation, Juniper Networks can provide its customers and partners with a richer development environment for creating applications to optimize their network assets and create new revenue opportunities while reducing cost, complexity and time,” said Mike Harding, vice president of Junos Space Business Unit, Juniper Networks. “Eclipse is an elite organization and this is a great opportunity to bring faster productivity to new Junos software solutions.”
The company is also trying to expand its mobile portfolio with TCA Series Timing Appliance, a technological outcome of their recent acquisition, Brilliant Communications. The series is expected to deliver end-to-end timing and non-intrusive one-way supervising of setback and interruptions.
Moving on to the financial part, a recent report compiled by Bloomberg informs strong sales of debut offering of Juniper Networks, accounting to $1 billion, which reflects the strong and strengthening U.S. Market. It’s a good sign for the company and the industry, as some of its competitors, including Cisco, have been struggling with their financial outlook in recent weeks.
