Aliens and UFOs Can’t Hide from Infochimp’s Datasets

Just when we thought those reported aliens, UFOs and multidimensional beings, as well as the stories about men from the sky that our ancestors have handed down from generation to generation weren’t true, here comes Infochimp’s Datasets API to prove that those things could possibly have existed.  Every documented sighting up on the internet these days are searchable now, and this data is accessible via RESTful API and is returned in JSON.

The datasets have the ability to accurately visualize the information about a particular sighting, as to what year, month and day it happened, getting as detailed as an animation that shows the sightings uploaded in real time. This will encourage those who have seen the same obscurities share their experience and thoughts on the happening. It’s also almost guaranteed that an application as powerful as this will create an explosion of data because of contributions and responses. Here’s a video of Dave Vellante talking about big data explosion posted up at Siliconangle.tv.

Not only do you get to see interesting stuff when you sign up for Infochimps, you’ll also get to mashup datasets with your favorite map data API.  Not too long ago, Infochimps, branded as the “Amazon of Data,” unveiled one thousand new API calls which are plug-and-play bits of code developers can insert into their applications. They also managed to come up 3 Twitter applications in just three days, which is not only surprising in terms of how much time they have incurred to build the applications, but also how impressive the response time of these apps compared to other Twitter apps.

“Infochips API has a response time of 0.2-0.4 seconds, where other industry leaders are as long as 2-4 seconds,” Andreas Krohn, API Specialist at Dopter, said. “When handling 60K Twitter users this difference is a major factor to consider.”
