Red Hat is Red Hot! Partners with EnterpriseDB for OpenShift Ecosystem

Teaming up with other companies is oftentimes a make-or-break move for businesses. Red Hat is fortunate enough to benefit from, and pump revenues through partnerships. This could also be the reason why they have been linked with several other providers the past few days, following Red Hat’s launch of OpenShift Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). This new ecosystem intends to support the coolest of languages like Java, Python, PHP and Ruby and frameworks with auto-scaling and performance monitoring features.

EnterpriseDB Director for Product Strategy further explains how they will be supporting Red Hat saying, “EnterpriseDB is proud to be a part of the Red Hat OpenShift platform, and is pleased to provide open source developers with an enterprise-class, Oracle compatible database built and maintained for the cloud. Red Hat is a trusted brand and our partnership with them will give developers a unique offering and the choice to use EnterpriseDB in the cloud while also giving flexibility of moving Oracle applications to the cloud without the headache of vendor lock-in.”

Red Hat is truly one of the premier providers in the open source field and in demand, too. Just yesterday, they joined forces with Appcelerator’s Titanium Studio to create, deploy and manage mobile apps in a single click. Together with the University of Wisconsin, the organization expands technology partnership and cloud leadership via the establishment of Center for High Throughput Computing as the first Red Hat Center of Excellence Development Partner.

And just when you think the list of partners is about to end, there are tons more. It recently announced merger with HP and BMC software to shift market to cloud systems development the soonest possible time, leaving big players like Cisco and Oracle trailing. Novell SUSE Manager 1.2 taps Red Hat’s technology to provide them with enterprise-oriented Linux-based operating system. This week’s Red Hat summit has also paved the way for further lucrative discussion on PaaS.

With mobile apps marketplace booming at an incredible pace, Red Hat’s cutting edge OpenShift is for developers who love to play around the open source minus the stress of building and maintaining infrastructure.
