Attivio: Optimizing Information Assets

Information optimization and text analytics are growing leaps and bounds as an industry sector. Tag this along with the demand for smarter search, and you get business-process-integrated applications with the aid of enhanced information access.  These developments have paved the way for the conception of Attivio in 2007.  This Massachusetts-based company produces and sells unified information access platform that permits any users or customers to be able to locate varied data via a single query and evaluate these from text, together with traditional data. Ever since launch, Attivio has depended largely on their flagship product—the AIE or Active Intelligence Engine.

Attivio.com has comprehensively discussed the benefits and functionality of AIE: “AIE brings immediacy and depth to the information that drives your organization, uniting content and text analytics with data from any source. AIE enables powerful applications, such as consolidated dashboards, that can leverage the content in documents, websites, emails, etc., in addition to the data that has traditionally been limited to database applications. AIE also enables greater query flexibility and enables search-style navigation methods, such as auto-completion and facet recommendations that facilitate exploration. AIE is also designed for rapid development and deployment, ensuring that this new level of information-driven applications quickly delivers return on investment.”

While Attivio’s service make look like one-dimensional, AIE is built with Active Security—a next-gen solution that has the power to secure access of compounded information across manifold silos and supports the bases of Unified Information Access. AIE was also utilized by Verdasys to create award-winning content inspection and data discovery—through full integration of AIE and Data Guardian. They also launched AIE for Sharepoint last January.

Attivio’s explosive customer growth year after year has made them extremely attractive in the eyes of the tech community. Last April, the organization sealed their stance as one of the prime movers and innovators in the industry when they were elected into the 2011 KMWorld Hall of Fame. The company teamed up with Traction Software to bridge worldwide scientific community with Enterprise 2.0 technology. The partnership will make good use of Attivio’s software that has full capability to amass the information (in various formats and types) of all scientists around the globe.

Dubbed as a wave maker by prestigious institutions, Attivio still has innovations to bring forth into search and information optimization industry.
