The Citrix Synergy event is about to kick off today, giving the virtualization company a chance to show off some new products, and highlight its achievements from the past year. We’ll be at Synergy 2011 live broadcasting interviews and discussing the event’s keynotes and news, delivering you every angle from the floor. Stay tuned to our blog, and watch our news desk program theCUBE at SiliconAngle.tv.
There are a few new programs added to Citrix Synergy this year, one focused on the transformation of the desktop. It’s really a demonstration of of how Citrix can help to move from a device-centric, distributed desktop environment to a user-centric, virtualized approach. It embodies the bulk of what Citrix as a company is all about, helping to usher in the new era of mobile workplaces and pragmatic solutions in a virtualized world.
The Desktop Transformation offering consists of a five-part educational series that provides a step-by-step pathway to adoption and an interactive exhibit at the Solutions Expo to show the model in action:
For a more hands-on approach to this demonstration, Citrix is also introducing the Self-paced Learning Labs at Syngergy 2011. Led by instructors, this technical training session gives attendees a chance to ask questions on-site, and polish their skills. No reservations are required–just walk in and start at a workstation. A variety of topics are available, and sessions run for 60 or 90 minutes.
The Synergy event is an important one for Citrix, especially as it centers itself in the midst of a computing and device revolution. We expect a number of mobile and open cloud-related announcements from Citrix this week, looking back at some of its recent developments in these spaces. Be sure to check frequently at SiliconAngle for continued coverage, and let us know your thoughts and reactions to the event. Here’s a clip from last night, with theCUBE co-hosts John Furrier and Dave Vellante discussing Synergy as the event gears up for today’s kick off.
