FalconStor Adds Two New VPs from HP and Symantec

Cloud storage solutions provider FalconStor announced it has made some staffing changes, and hired two new VPs. The company has hired former Hewlett-Packard exec Donna Williams to serve as vice president of worldwide technical support, and former Symantec director Abbas Meghjee as vice president of North America.

Williams served as the director of software support delivery throughout the Americas when she worked at HP, and managed a $600 million technical support business with gross margine results of 89 percent.

“Donna will be instrumental in making sure FalconStor customers get the most value from our products, enjoy an unparalleled deployment and support experience and continue to invest in FalconStor solutions in the future.”

Williams has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from La Salle University and a master’s degree from the University of Baltimore.

Maghjee has 12 years of experience as a sales exec responsible for numerous regions include the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. Most recently he worked at Symantec as directors of sales for inside sales organizations in the U.K and emerging markets. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado as well as a master’s degree from Bard College in New York.

FalconStor is expanding its staff, and is aiming to do the same with its customer base. One of the biggest customers it signed up recently was Radley + Co, a UK luxury retailer that have recently started operations in the U.S.

Still, FalconStor also had its earnings call for Q4 2010, and reported a 7 percent decline in revenues to $82.8 million, compared with $89.5 million in the same period the year before. The company reported an 18 percent growth for Q3 2010.

In addition to FalconStor, a number of other tech companies have been making some executive level changes too. Hewlett-Packard, for once fired execs Marius Haas, Tom Iannotti and Gary Budzinski as a part of its strategy refocus on software.
