Teradata Looks To Reach LOB Execs With ClickFox Partnership

ClickFox and Teradata have inked a strategic partnership that should add important new analytic capabilities for Teradata customers.

Thanks to the new partnership, Teradata customers will have the ability to deploy a new ClickFox Customer Experience Analytic appliance on-premise and connect it to existing Teradata enterprise data warehouses. A new connector allows data housed in Teradata warehouses to integrate seamlessly into the ClickFox CEA appliance where it can be mashed-up with social networking, mobile and other unstructured data for further customer-centric analysis.

Teradata will not resell the ClickFox CEA appliance, but plans to leverage the new appliance to extend its reach to line-of-business executives, who are ClickFox’s core customers. ClickFox traditionally delivers its software on-demand, but developed an on-premise appliance to appeal to Teradata’s large install-base of Fortune 1000 customers in the telecommunications, finance and insurance verticals.

In addition to making it easier for ClickFox to ingest Teradata-based data, the appliance also allows customers to feed the resulting analysis back into Teradata and, ultimately, on to other line-of-business applications, according to John Huntington, Vice President of Alliances and Channels at ClickFox.

ClickFox’s analytic software aims to give marketing managers and LOB execs a clear view of the full customer experience lifecycle. It helps users identify which touch-points are causing issues for customers, understand how different customer touch-points impact one another, and predict the way customers are most likely to interact with the company in the future.

Teradata is clearly trying to move beyond selling just to IT and appeal to LOB execs by forming partnerships with and acquiring analytical software vendors that compliment its core enterprise data warehouse offering. Servicing LOB execs is a completely different ballgame than working with IT departments, however. Expect Teradata to rely on ClickFox’s expertise servicing business users as the two vendors extend their relationship. From ClickFox’s perspective, partnering with Teradata is a natural fit and should allow the company to reach significantly more potential customers.
