Fanhattan, the TV/movie discovery app that aggregates data from Netflix, Hulu Plus, and iTunes which started on the iPad and found its way to the iPhone, now includes personalized news feed through their partnership with several brands in the entertainment industry to help users discover what TV programs or movies to watch.
Putting the Fun in Fanhattan
Fan Feed represents a killer leap forward for Fanhattan. Now, in addition to entertainment discovery through smart algorithms and friends, you can use the top brands in entertainment news to discover what to watch.
The Fan Feed allows you to launch directly into Fanhattan so you can “Become a Fan” of a certain actor, show or movie. And the more you like movies or people, it broadens your personal Fanhattan experience, which is then curated in “My News,” so you’ll be up to date on things that you personally like or are interested in.
New Fanhattan partners include BBC, Billboard, Celebuzz, CNN, E! Online, Entertainment Tonight and Entertainment Weekly, amongst others.
Back in December, Fanhattan added Crackle, which features great full-length movies and television, and PBS which features culturally significant, fun, and entertaining shows. And for those who do not use an iPhone or iPad and is curious about the awesomeness of Fanhattan, they will next launch on connected TVs and soon on the web.
On a related note, Chill, the Turntable.fm-like service, recently ventured out into the video discovery scene. Chill relaunched, and now focuses on social video aggregation and discovery instead of group video viewing.
