Panorama9 Launches IT Dashboard, New Feature in the US

Panorama9 is a Danish startup that focuses on general-purpose IT solutions in the cloud.  And that has been working out pretty well for the company so far.

Their platform is targeting small to midsized enterprises’ IT administrative tasks, covering a pretty long list ranging from inventory management and distribution, to the more creative obligation of monitoring the monitoring system.

Now Panorama9 is making this solution available to US customers, a big milestone that the web-based dashboard has passed after finally gaining an adequate international user base to support it. The announcement is coupled with  the news that a startup added a  new patch management feature. It’s automated, and that lets the tool track down workstations or servers with dated software, whether it’s the OS or the default set of programs such as browsers, and updates them.

“Increasingly, small to mid-sized companies are turning to the cloud ecause of ease of use, low cost and extremely fast ROI. Panorama9 has quickly made a name for itself within the IT community in Europe and we’re excited to bring the solution to the US market, where cloud computing and IT management are two of the top 10 priorities for CIOs in 2012, according to Gartner,” said Allan Thorvaldsen, CEO and co-founder of Panorama9.

Panorama is certainly carving its own niche in the SaaS space, where providers have traditionally focused more on segmented areas rather than the whole package that is IT administration (or at least a sizable chunk of it).

IBM is also doing some innovation around cloud services, most recently with the launch of a mainframe that it tagged as a “PaaS in a box.” The emphasis with PureApplication System is consolidation.
