YouSendIt Hits the 30M User Mark, Reaches other Milestones in Q1
YouSendIt has been doing remarkably well in the past 12 months, according to some new data that the company released about its growth and other achievements in the first quarter of fiscal 2012.
YouSendIt didn’t disclose revenue or profit, but it’s safe to assume that it has improved quite a bit in at least one of these areas. The firm says that the number of registered users ballooned by 71 percent since last year to 30 million, and the amount of paying subscribers increased by 59 percent to 585,000. The collaboration cloud provider offers two different monthly plans with pricing ranging between about $8/month to $15/month for the most expansive storage package, in addition to the more limited free option.
The company decided to take the opportunity to recap on some of its more notable milestones in the first quarter. For one thing, the YouSendIt partner base expanded dramatically throughout that period:
“YouSendIt made a move to expand its presence in the enterprise market by forming a partnership with one of Microsoft’s top six Large Account Resellers, Softmart,” the company highlighted in a released statement, a development we noted at the time. “YouSendIt also partnered with the largest Authorized Distributor of Google Message Security & Compliance and one of the largest Authorized Resellers of Google Apps for Business, Excel Micro.”
Excel Micro apparently sold over million licenses so far, and Softmart holds an equally formidable record.
In addition to the partnerships, a new offering called Workstream was also introduced two months ago – a tool that syncs with SharePoint and Outlook, which has been updated to include group-based policies and automatic file scanning since launch.
Last but not least YouSendIt hired a new CTO, Stanford Au. A stronger management team is certainly needed now that everyone from Google to VMware is launching their own cloud file services.
