Fresh iPhone 5 Rumors: Apple Press, Framework and Supply Chain Leaks

Apple is rumored to hold a press release on the week of September 12, according to AllThingsD. Rumors about the iPhone’s framework have also been circulating.

Although details about the expected agenda of the release have not yet been discussed, past Apple press releases indicate that the new iPhone will be introduced.

Quarterly reports strongly back up AllThingsD’s claims. A large increase in component payments indicates that the company is preparing a supply chain of the new iPhone, as well as other devices, such as the new iPad mini.

Rumors also indicate there is a higher demand for the iPhone 5 than any other iPhone in the past.

And as for the physical appearance of the phone, Hong Kong based supplier ETradeSupply released a video which shows a metal construction, which is rumored to be Liquidmetal alloy. The framework also appears to be longer, but not wider, than any other iPhone.

Rumor has it that the dock connector for the new iPhone has also been scaled down, which means the connector will not be compatible with other iPhones, iPads and most iPods.

Allegedly, there will also be a smaller Home button and a narrower SIM card for the phone, according to 9to5Mac.

iLab Factory posted pictures of their own, showing the internal makeup of the new phone. Pictures of the flex cables found differ from any other parts found in the iPhone’s handsets.

It appears the new iPhone will be on the market early this fall, with a larger screen and its own dock connector, which means no more using one cord to charge all portable Apple devices. Now that we know what the phone will look like, it will be interesting to see what new features the phone actually has and beyond physical appearance, what makes the new phone different from iPhones in the past.
