CipherCloud Claims to have Revolutionized Data Protection

CipherCloud believes it has created the first configurable encryption gateway to secure data that’s in transit, in use and dormant in public and private cloud environments with the new CipherCloud Connect AnyApp.

The company believes that Connect AnyApp will revolutionize how data is protected in the cloud with its quick and easy-to-use encryption system that isn’t too pricey.

This new product encrypts data on SaaS, IaaS, PaaS and other applications, along with behind-the-firewall intranet applications used to manage data in enterprises. According to CipherCloud, the application does not require any changes, nor does it ask for any installation of client software.

“The industry’s wait is over and now millions of IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS and behind-the-firewall applications can have data-at-rest protected with point-and-click encryption and tokenisation policies without any programming required,” said Pravin Kothari, founder and chief executive of CipherCloud.

CipherCloud Connect AnyApp also offers a fully functioning web experience. Now, search, sort and report are maintained, which were not possible before.

The company partnered with various service providers, including Amazon, Web Services and Box, along with system integrators in order to market the product. And by using the application, partners will have the ability to secure any intranet form, custom-developed web application or vertical SaaS application using encryption or tokenization. IT administrators also have the ability to pick and choose which fields on web pages they wish to be encrypted.

Businesses still seem to be pretty skeptical about the cloud due to security reasons, so security solutions that help protect and encrypt data will make cloud services a priority use for business-critical applications. Security breaches, after all, are not foreign. Dropbox, for example, had an issue with security breaching when someone got their paws on users’ email addresses and spam was sent out.
