I don’t think most Apple fans will be able to sleep tonight, wistfully anticipating the expected launch of the iPhone 5 tomorrow.
In our ongoing coverage, we’ve already looked at the rumored specs of the iPhone 5 extensively but here’s a brief overview: it will be bigger at 4 to 4.6 inches, redesigned speaker grills, thinner because of the in-cell touch panels that eliminates the gap between the LCD and touch sensor panels, will need a nano SIM, will have an 8-pin dock connector instead of the usual 30-pin, an 8MP or even higher rear camera, possibly fingerprint scanning technology, improved Siri, iOS 6, A6 chipset, and a unibody LiquidMetal case.
So enough about the specs, it’s time to look at what accessories are already available for the upcoming iPhone 5. Doing some digging, we’ve found quite a few iPhone 5 accessories currently available for pre-order.
Gresso, a manufacturer of luxury smartphone cases, announced in their blog the new Gresso Revolution Bumper-Case for iPhone 5. Yes, they’ve already published a photo of the bumper case a day before the iPhone 5′s big reveal. But the post did not provide specific details as to what the dimensions of the device is.
Sculpteo, the Paris-based 3D-printing accessory company, stated that they will start accepting accessory orders for the iPhone 5 hours after the launch tomorrow. This will be possible via their website and on their iTunes app:
“If there is any radical changes in the shape, customers will be informed immediately before their iPhone case is printed and delivered,” Sculpteo said.
The thing with owning an iDevice is getting it early, and Sculpteo gets that. So if you’re one of those who’re going to get the iPhone 5 when it is released, you can already pre-order the case and as an added bonus, the company will print the date and time the iPhone 5 case was ordered on the side of the case. The 3D printed case will cost $19.95 and the company ships worldwide.
Spigen already has three items available for the iPhone 5 and more are expected to come once the device is launched. They have the iPhone 5 Leather Pouch Crumena Series available in black, white and vegetable brown; the iPhone 5 Screen Protector Steinheil Series available in Ultra Criystal and Ultra Oleophobic; and the iPhone 5 Screen Protector GLAS.t Premium Tempered Glass Series in Oleophobic coating.
And if you check out Alibaba, you’d see that a lot of vendors are already taking orders for iPhone 5 casing in various designs.
Additionally, some merchants like Veister are already taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5 USB cable, which will cost about $19. A bit steep for a cable don’t you think? But of course, this is Apple and because they have redesigned their USB cable, a premium price point is expected.
