Springpad Adds More Content Management on the Go: iPad, Android Tablet Updates

As more people rely on their tablets and smartphones for productivity, there is a constant search for the perfect tool to help them go about their daily tasks.  And apps like Springpad, the social, smart cloud-based notebook app that helps you discover, save, share and act on the ideas and information, makes productivity on the go possible.

Springpad revealed a couple of new features today for their web and Android app, which will soon be available for the iOS version, that makes organizing items easier.  Items are now re-orderable and has a drag-and-drop Board view to provide a new way of controlling content and visual appeal of a user’s virtual notebook.

“Whether prioritizing tasks with your family or team, or compiling visual inspirations for your home design project, organization is key. We’re thrilled to be introducing new flexible ways for Springpad users to better organize ideas and information in an easy-to-use, visually appealing environment. Our community continues to amaze us with the many ways they use their smart notebooks, and we’re excited to see new creative ideas that result from the features we’ve introduced,” said Jeff Chow, Co-Founder and CEO of Springpad.

The upgraded Springpad apps feature an easily-editable Board which lets you drag-and-drop content onto a scrapbook-like page to create galleries of related items for personal use, or for collaboration with friends.  You can use the Board for anything: planning a trip, redesigning your living room, organizing an event, curating recipes and a lot more.  The Board is available for the web and iPad apps, and will soon be available for Android tablets.

You can now also allows re-ordering of notebooks, so you can arrange them in a way that makes sense to you instead of auto-arranged in chronological order.

The updated Springpad also takes advantage of Android Jelly Bean’s rich notifications, so you don’t have to launch the app to take actions when someone follows you and you want to follow them back, or to access bookmark links.

“From to-do lists to collaborative projects to published content, organization is a big part of the way people use Springpad. We’re excited to give people new ways to organize and present their Springpad items exactly the way they want, in an easy-to-use environment that make the experience visually appealing as well as fun and easy,” said Chow.

The update also brings enhanced speed, convenience and richness of the Springpad experience, and the simplified notebook creation method helps even new users create notebooks and add items easily and intuitively.   The update comes after their extended Facebook integration, wherein Facebook Likes became discoverable and actionable to your Springpad contacts.

With such a dedicated focus on mobile, Springpad is empowering the consumer sector with cloud-based data management optimized for tablets, which is an important for today’s current mobile market.  While other apps like Rhapsody find that users typically do more consuming on mobile, and managing on desktops, Springpad’s proactive stance sees mobile as an opportunity to layer in more functions so users can do more managing on the go.

Springpad is an important tool that lets users manage data, taking the next step in our age of curation.  Their “smart notebooks” deliver a string of actions around a user’s curated content, putting Springpad squarely at a crossroad for developing a business around recommendations, more productivity tools and targeted marketing.  SiliconANGLE’s Senior Editor Kristen Nicole describes Springpad as the solution to the ever growing issue of finding the best way of dealing with human-curated data.
