Battle of the Minis: iPad mini vs. Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD
Google just updated their small tablet offering with the unveiling of the new Nexus 7. It now comes with the latest Android version, 4.2 Jelly Bean, and a few more surprises. Though Google did not have the proper event that they have prepared for, they didn’t let Hurricane Sandy wash them out.
And with the Apple’s revelation of the iPad mini last week, we can’t help but compare the tablets together with the other 7” tablets available in the market. I won’t bore you with my babbling so let’s start the battle!

So who wins this battle?
Apple was still able to bring the lightest tablet in this category, plus the iPad mini has two cameras, one in the front and one in the back, for chatting as well as taking photos and videos. But the Nexus 7 has a lot of Google-compatible features, such as Google Now. Plus it has a powerful quad-core chip and it has Gesture Typing, which simplifies text input.
The Nexus 7 is now available in 16GB priced at $199 and 32GB available for $249, both WiFi versions only, and a 32GB with HSPA+ mobile available for $299, a lot cheaper than the iPad mini that costs $329 for the basic WiFi only model.
Available in U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Canada and Japan, and also via their retail partners Gamestop, Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, Walmart. The 32GB mobile version will be coming unlocked in Google Play on November 13 in U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Spain and Canada.
