Need a Nexus 4 Now? Here’s 6 Places to Try

Google’s Nexus 4 and sister devices have apparently struck a nerve. Their smartphones and tablets were sold out in merely 40 minutes after going on sale in the U.S. Google Play store.  Just one day earlier, the Nexus 4 Google Play store sold out within half an hour after its launch in the UK and other European countries. Germany is by far the most impressive since the Germans had gobbled up the Nexus 4 stock in 15 minutes flat.

At this breakneck speed, Nexus proves that Google is undoubtedly a major player in the mobile device market.  The a combination of quality materials with low price makes the popularity of the Nexus 4 a must have for Android lovers.

Google misjudged Nexus 4’s potential, and the magnitude of this demand miscalculation is starting to show. Users reported Google Play store was riddled with errors.

The official Nexus Google+ page says:

“There’s been so much interest for the Nexus lineup that we’ve sold out of some of our initial stock in a few countries! We are working hard to add more Nexus devices to Google Play in the coming weeks to keep up with the high demand. You can learn more about Nexus devices and stay updated at play.google.com/nexus.”

Have you tried to purchase one this morning and came up empty? Here’s a lists of stores/sites where you can buy Nexus 4.

T-Mobile to sell unsubsidized 16GB Nexus 4

T-Mobile has announced that they would be selling the unsubsidized 16GB Nexus 4 for $499 in the US as compared to the $349 on Google Play. The company is also offering to purchase the phone for $199 but with a two-year contract. If you get the Nexus 4 with a T-Mobile Classic plan, it will cost you $199.

  • Value plan: $199.99 down payment, and 20 payments of $15
  • Classic plan: $249 payment, then you get a $50 mail-in-rebate
  • No plan: $499.99 is the full retail price

E-Bay

The handset has already begun showing up on eBay, but you have to pay a high price, starting at $450 and up. There was report that one eBay seller is charging a whopping £1,200 (roughly $1,900) to ship a Nexus 4 “Brand New in Sealed Box,” in the UK.

In the US, one eBay listing has the LG Nexus 4 at a “Buy it Now” price for $445, with most others priced above that range.

Craigslist

Some people who have managed to snag Nexus 4 phones are selling the pre-ordered Google phones on Craigslist. Again the phone is selling at $400 plus.

O2 in the UK

O2 is currently the only network which has the Nexus 4 on sale in the UK. The operator is charging customers £399 for the 16GB version on a Pay & Go basis (£120 more than Google’s online Play store price of £279). O2 says the phone is available unlocked and directly from Google, and users have access to rewards schemes and tickets, which is the reason the company is charging more from customers.

Amazon

Amazon is offering Nexus 7 32GB and 16 GB online. Place your order from here, here or here.

Carphonewarehouse.com

Carphonewarehouse.com is offering a free delivery option for UK customers with an offer of monthly installment of £31 per month.
