Best Of: Famous First Tweets

Late last year we saw a surprising profile pop up on Twitter when Pope Benedict XVI sent out his first tweet.  He already has more than 700,000 followers, and they seem to be only rising in number.  If you’re curious as to what the Pope discussed in his inaugural tweet, check out our earlier report here.

The Pope’s first tweet was quite simple and to the point, but did you know that there were a lot of famous people whose first tweets were quite funny or at least interesting and some of them were just plain clueless.

Your First Tweet?

How about you?  What was your first tweet?  Were you as clueless as some of the above mentioned personalities, or were you one of those profound people on Twitter, anxious to make a statement entrance?

My first tweet was, “is thinking about working at home…hmmm need a really good computer and the best internet connection!”  And now look where I am today.  ;)
